Pennsylvania eases rules for HIV testing, effective Sept. 6, 2011

Presently, HIV testing works on an opt-in system with written consent. But starting Sept. 6, 2011 Pennsylvania eases HIV testing rules making HIV testing an opt-out system with oral or written consent. Health-care providers may inform patients orally or in writing that HIV testing will be performed unless they decline or opt out.
